Well, with all the "OMFG THIS ZONE IS IMPOSSIBLE" screams normal people are out there putting builds together and figuring out how to beat this thing.
Its definetly harder then anything I've come by so far but thats probably because we havent set up a good strategy for it yet. The thing that sucks is trying to do it the FoW balanced group style doesn't work. Tanks get by passed and monsters run straight for nukers, Maybe having 2 ritualists in group then 3 monks and 2 wammo's or something along that line might work. Spirit rits dmge FTW! I dunno if any one comes up with a working build they should post it up!

I won't say it's easy.
I won't say it's not very, very, very challenging. (I added bold for emphasis, see that? )
However, I will that that it is do-able.
It'll just take us some time and effort to figure out how!
I guess they would be happy if you guys made a zone they could run through naked only to emerge with 16 godly gold items and 100k in the bank. Not I. This is the exact kind of thing I was hoping ANet would add. An area of the game that will take even the most experienced of teams coordination, effort, and time to figure out how to beat it. Pass on a praise from me. I've been waiting for a piece of PvE that really taxes my brain and skill for a year and a half now. Finally it exists and I can't wait for the satisfaction that will come when I finally beat it

Hahahahahahaha! Seems to me that the one not good enough to play the game could be the one who was actually going to buy a strategy guide when there is 1000x more information on this forum and website alone.

It's ok that you can't just breeze through this area. It's a freakin' ELITE mission. The word implies what it is and if you don't understand what that word means, go look it up. Not everyone should be able to do this. You should have to actually be good at this game to figure out a build and be able to run it properly to make it through this. I'd wager much that someone will certainly beat it this weekend even if they don't post the build they used (which they'd be foolish to do) and in a month or so, there will be team builds all over the forums for you to leech off and go actually do decently in there.

Sorry it's too hard for you in the first, what, 4-6 hours? Gimme a break.

This is far worse then the any Elite missions in Cantha, and in thoes missions we had at least 12 not 8.
Again, just because you can't instantly do it doesn't mean it can't be done or is too hard to complete. If you need to run someone elses team build to get through it, just wait a while and someone will post one for you eventually.

Oh yeah, make sure each mob group is close to each others so you can't never really aggro one group.

I would love to go to DoA but what is the ultimate reward you get out of here? Another green weapons or rare items? No thanks, i got quests and missions to finish with my Dervish and Ranger.
E tu, Skullcrasher? There is no video game AI in the world that can out-do human ingenuity. It's been proven over and over again. The only thing they can do to make something harder is up the level, up the numbers, and make our lives hell by doing their best to make us have a heart attack.

Sounds like they did a good job to me

Keep your shortsighted two monks and elementalist hero setup, and let me experiment with different hero combinations and builds, like I always do.

Oh, except I still can't experiment with the Ritualist hero, because, well... I'm being denied access to that content simply because I have a life and can't breathe Guild Wars to the point that allows me to succeed in the area he's located.

This needs a 12 men team.

With at least 2 full bonders keeping 5-6 bonds each and 2/3 full healers with LoD and HP.

Then it can become barely reasonable.

I got in five or six different pugs. You gotta figure that most people who can get there are pretty decent players since they beat the game already.

We got owned. Got into a few deeper places, got owned. 2.5 hours is enough for me. I won't be back there until you guys with no life spend the next week figuring out the right builds. Personally, I have better things to do.

I don't really understand what the problem is with building another SF type expansion. Put in some good drops. Don't make it overly difficult (example: no more "everytime you block, dodge, or evade you take 50 damage" -- that is f'n BS if you are a ranger), everyone enjoys the heck out of it for five or six months, then we move on.

To this day I don't know of a single person that enjoys the Deep or Urzog's Warren. No one looks forward to going there. The drops are crummy, the maps are stupid and long. You have to have exactly the right mix of players to come close. And you can successfully spend one hour, die at the end and get nothing. While I am sure there are a few fools out there that enjoy that sort of thing, I don't know of any.

Sorrow's Furnace on the other hand was fun. Our guild still farms there. It is productive. You get stuff. You go to bed happy. It what a freaking GAME is supposed to be.

No more Anguish for me. It's another Deep mission. It's a waste.

Gaile's "very, very, very challenging" may not equal "impossible", just "impossible for 90% of the playerbase". Most people I know who play the game have a job and a social life. A significant portion are also married with children. I have the former two, and this kind if stupidity isn't even remotely possible for me.

Nice way of cutting most of the players out of the supposed "endgame content".

At least make Razah easily acquirable.

i LOVE THIS AREA. Its a true elite. no prissy uber build to farm the death out of it. Pure Party mania. OK sure heroes can come but who would want em in here. This is the real deal...

Only thing is I kinda expected the area to be like the other elite missions and allow a party of 12... Maybe that will come later as most parties of 8 are not getting much further then a few groups into the area before getting their butts handed to them. Balanced teams for the win!!!

Funny how all these people were like lets rush in and get Razah really fast so we can pick up new pugs later with him. and finding out Gee. its 50,000 faction for a reason. He's hard to get for a change!!! Horary!

Agreed on the Razah requirement needing an extreme toning down.

Plus, isn't he a FACTIONS PROFESSION?

Hmmm..... went with a trap group, looks possible for the most part. However only got to the wall with baddies on it, took out a few of them via LBG.
Group had 2 monks as well.

I'll reserve final judgement on this , but from what I've seen someone cranked it up a notch too far for most. Having a very good group and being patient would seem to be key here. Having lightbringer's gaze appears to be a must as well as other interupts.

First impression extremely difficult for most, and believe there will be a build or 2 that will be the norm. Pulling will be important as well, and they aggro way easy. And what is up with a spirit being part of aggro? - like i can tell if one of my spirits is being attacked when I'm way out of aggro zone, or in it for that matter.

have to wait for guildies and friends to try this again - get their opinion as well.

Exactly correct. Brilliant summation.

Sorrow's Furnace is still the best area in Guild Wars. This, I'll never touch. It's not remotely fun.

Well, better they are somehow buffed up until they fix something (like those 50.000 faction for Razah that has not been fixed to 6000 already) otherwise. This is unbelievable.

Once I was in a team to kill Urgoz, and 5 out of 12 left.
We got Killed by Urgoz, because the monks left, but we could still anything until then it was not easy, but was possible.

But I find rather funny that, being all over rank 4 Lightbringer, a Dervish margonite deals over 300 damage points hits without criticals. I was more than 10 times the last woman standing, and all times I was able to kill one of them, while the others sistematically wiped out the rest of the party like this:
- We set strategy.
- We prepare spells.
- We set our guards and prepare for a long hard battle.
- We study the near terraing to gather enemies far from other and not tu pull more than one group at a time.
- We set traps.
- We call one group by hitting one of their spirits of nature.
- They come and we set protection areas and protective spells.
- One or more of them hit twice each of us, we die.
Do they have Darkbringer Titles? If they de thay may have them at rank 16.
They give so much damage that the divine intervention does nothing agains one of their hits, because the next one will come soon and kill you.

An 55 to take the damage? If you manage to kill the enchantmente removes before they deal with them, they seem to get tired of them, stop hitting them and go for the nearest damage dealer.
MM? One hit of them is enough to kill any creature you create, and using jagged bones is not enough, by the time you cast JB in one creature, they kill 5.
Protections like against melee? Hitting 50% of times is enoguh for them.
Earth self-protections spells? Yup, you may stay alive, but all the rest of the party will die anyways.
Ward against harm? 4 hits of 150 damage is almost the same as 2 of 300.
Traps? They do not deal enoguh damage and do not last enough to kill enough of them or remove enough health so the fight is possible.

I don't think people would like to play a game like 'crossing the 200 inches steel wall!!!' (Yay!). You pay 30 bucks, and you have one chance to try to walk through a dense wall of steel! (Yippie!)

Yup, may be some 16 hour of gaming mad player have time set traps all over and run for hours to get one gem, but the average GW player can play one or two hour per day, and around 7-10 per week.
Please, make the game for more than the 50% of the players, not for a 0.1% that keeps bragging 'this is boring' in forums, you should know that not even the 1% of players register in forums like this. So, please, be realistic and remember this game was meant for all, or at leat, the most, not for a few. Everyone have paid for this game. not only some. EVERYONE.
They are elite areas, yes, they are, but elite does no mean having to spend 4 hours to do one quest, means that you need more coordination and pay attention. Any area should be available for all classes, not for the 'magic unique party'.

At least they could limit they damage so they do not deal hits over 300 damage points to r8 lightbringers or something like that.
Or just make getting razah possible without buying the gems to others.
Or Make Razah really a variable Hero, not just a Ritualist so it does deserves the hard work.

Never forget this: A frustated player is an annoying pest that no ones cares about. More than 50% frustaded players means death for the game.

Not that many.

I opened roughly 50 chests in 2 hours, and the only interesting new items were the Shadow Axe, Shadow Scythe, Talon Daggers and a couple of others.

Anyone tried the 8 X A/Me build with non-stop shadow form through mimicry, Deadly Paradox and such?

Or is there non-targeted enchant strips like Chilblains?
